detroits eric johnston who has already brought archipel a remix of marc neyen and an ep on kalimari now brings us a superb four track 12 inch entitled >silly girl<. this whole package is a highly rhythmic affair which while darkly tinted remains very funky. >stop calling me< is the most percussion oriented of the pieces and instantly sucks you into its very well thought out labyrinth of sky high rhythms which are layered just so and double dipped in liquid funk while >labrador< strips things down a little more and wraps you in blankets of warm and rubbery groove. >worth it< carries on with the perfect shuffle and utilizes a wonderful blend of warmth and funk which take hold of your mind and feet with an unrelenting grip while it ebbs and flows, building a heated story as it progresses. >munted< could be three pieces in and of itself but blends them all expertly into one single solid storyline which takes you through mazes of juicy percussion and excellently placed, darkly hued, very deep chords.

technopassion presents a single from george le nagelaux that is a musical stroke of genius: >das dunkel spricht< (the darkness speaks), a lovely composition of dreamily-dark synthesizer sounds which meld perfectly harmonic with a contemplative vocal. the austrian master remains true to the techno spirit and combines the ensemble with a irresistible, hard as bone bassline and a solid pumping groove. the original mix is the perfect tune for turning the dancefloor into a boiling pot during the prime time. the dub version is slower, but not less driving and will enjoy great popularity among the devotees of smooth sounds.

jack this is a typically powerful and funky slice of peak-time techno from tom hades. the main hook comes from a big descending siren that is worked in around the groove and succession of drops and builds.
loco & jam (1605, mb elektronics) are selected for remix duties fresh from winning best new artist at the 2010 irish dance music awards. their mix takes the groove deeper but still retains the incendiary edge.
barnes bachelor rounds off the package with its linear, driving groove and gentle melodic shifts that lift up the darker, brooding undertones of the bassline. a subtle but effective track for the longer sets / early hours.

here comes edwards follow-up ep. this time he goes a slightly deeper and more direct. it might be the purest music we ve ever heard from the berlin-based producer. all the crazy clubgigs are manifested into hi music now. of course still with the classical edward style somewhere between dark minimal and trancy deephouse aesthetics. >bush of crows< is somewhat of a siginature edward track. but a very rough one this time. with a comfortable paranoia, this track unfolds itself into a little peak time extravaganza. on the flip, he cools everything down with a warm house tune called >the ghetto< and he adds a certain >blockparty romantic< to it... b2. is once again one of those more minimal edward tracks were he masters to be on point with just the core essence o sounds. edward remains a real romantic for sure...

hope in bags? no way, but rather thoughts on vinyl! true to enliven musics credo, not to program tools but to bring feelings back to the dancefloor, this new release is as spheric and deep emotional as a tech-house-funk-jazz-track could be. packed with a ribbon loop, bound by sven tasnadi, the >envelope of hope< is conveyed. the recipient launches a hearing pleasure on a special level, either heard in a sunny morning, beginning a lovely day or in the evening prospecting a lovely party, this track sets you in the right mood to experience all things with a quite positive elegance. as always, every part of the body is pleased but most of all the legs and the heart.

big with dubfire, richie hawtin, sven väth, luciano, stephan bodzin, loco dice, karotte, adam beyer, mandy! after d-edge in sao paulo and rex in paris, oliver huntemann selected cielo club in new york to record his third compilation from the play! series. cielo is like no other. tucked cosily in the ultra-hip meat packing district and having won numerous awards for best club in new york, it seemed the perfect pick for this special project the ep, introducing the compilation, consists of two tracks which oliver huntemann produced specially for the big apple. nyc (keep on playin) summarizes perfectly the mood of the city that never sleeps. groovy, somewha melancholic but always ready for more.

muller rec presents: >gas ep< by one of the best polish dj and producer - siasia.
known as one of a few creators from poland and enfant terrible of the polish techno and house scene. this time the dirty stuff records owner introduces his own two tracks released by berlin based label muller records on vinyl and digital. on this ep you will find two brand new techno tracks - krypton and xenon plus krypton exceptionally remixed by beroshima. as frank muller said himself: >this is really nice fuc**** fat techno.< his comment says it all but check it out and let us know your opinion.

after the great mojuba g.o.d.2 by chez damier it is time for some oracy action, its been a while since we heard from the creator of such classics as family day and mind dance. but now after doing a very fine remix for balance alliance in the meantime, he is back in full effect. the a-side bass mood is featuring a disco break styled beat combined with a sick acid bassline à a special track for that special moment on the floor! the b-side with funk advice is cooling things a little down, but in a way only a mojuba record can do it - some serious deepness is waiting for you!

we love the way of leeks experimenting with sounds, some are quite edgy others are electronic sounding and not necessarily pleasing sounds as we get them in nearly every production these days. >qwerty< for example does not subdue to the daily routine of >todays techno< but moves upright and proudly. ever listened to jeff mills? you will then understand a bit about whats going on here.&#8232,,,,,

back again we have the mediterranean flavor of the friends affkt and alberto sola. always experimenting with different ingredients like the cooker ferran adria, the guys who laid the first stone of the legendary label barraca, now present a hybrid of pop and house which will leave no one indifferent. ‘pobla loves you’ was born with the tuba of alberto cuartero, orchestra director of hoya gonzalo in albacete. marc and alberto (affkt and sola) wanted to have a typical instrument of a band and merged it with the electronic dance scene, always being faithful to his maxim of making music to dance as well as to listen. if we surround valencia, road to pobla de farnals, we passed through la canada. there are los updates, who upon hearing the organic rhythm of pobla and the work with the wind instruments, set to work with the voices. perfectly adapted to the capital of the turia river, jorge and loreto propose a valencian poem that their children have learned at school. the moon of valencia then join our dinner for four. finally, we add to our paella a bit of percussion and keyboards made in affkt, to get a main course and obtain a typical valencian plate but by adding a little chilean salt becomes international. more oriented to the dance floor, there are three rather different remixes. new union between spain and chile, with danny fiddo and felipe venegas. this couple present an elegant and deep remix with drums and vocals perfectly adapted to the current sound. moreover, the french man darlyn vlys re-interpreted >pobla loves you< with a lot of groove and percussion added. finally, affkt gives his funker version of events to complete a job that will come out by the german label international freakshow

every so often a new talent pops up out of nowhere and delivers something special which grabs everyones attention. so, for its 12th offering redux is very proud to present an exciting new artist with his first ever release and what a debut it is. christophe, known to his mum and dad as christopher rees is not only a dab hand in the studio but a talented graphic designer in the day and dj with the futureboogie crew at night. after playing a demo of >make a mark< to tristan one hazy morning in his hometown of bristol, the track was quickly snapped up by redux without haste. drenched in classic house sensibilities and showing astounding amounts of skill and taste for his first foray into the world of production, the future looks bright from this point on for christophe.

the solid tumbling tones found on this ep are all thats needed as an introduction to these two accomplished producers latest creation. both strong forces in their own right, the pair come together once again on sweatshop to present their vision of dancefloor harmony, and mystery! sirens is the aptly titled track whose crazy vibe is encapsulated by jacking, swinging percussion, wild pitching synth stabs and a haunting soprano soloist letting loose! this needs to be experienced to be believed, but the proof will be in the dancefloor, hands in the air and minds expanded! moirae works the tension with dense filtered stabs and crisp solid state percussion, driving this deep slab of dark dance into blissful moments of release. mellow yet urgent, its a raw, purist electronic statement! joel alter also offers up a special edit which focuses the groove in a slightly more kinetic direction, with reduced, aquatic synth work and a classic club energy that makes it an ideal addition to the package.
